Tupou wins 50th cap – Australia name team to play Georgia

Australia head coach Eddie Jones has named his match-day 23 to face Georgia in Saint-Denis on Saturday, with tight-head prop Taniela Tupou set to win his 50th cap.

  • Richie Arnold starts in the second row. His brother, Rory, played second-row in this fixtures four years ago.
  • Will Skelton made his captaincy debut at this venue in his last game, and becomes the first lock to captain Australia in a Rugby World Cup match since Dean Mumm in 2015 against Uruguay.
  • Prop Taniela Tupou will play his 50th career test. He has played just 89 minutes of test rugby this season across two appearances.
  • Samu Kerevi returns after missing Australia’s loss at Stade de France last game. He has made the most try assists for the Wallabies this season with three.
  • Ben Donaldson will start at full-back for the first time in his career after two caps off the bench, and one at fly-half across 83 total minutes of test rugby played.
