Consumers with conservancy or septic tanks who cannot connect to a sewerage network, or who have had a change in the property’s occupancy status, may apply to change their tariff at the beginning of the financial year (1 July).
However, approval for switching from option 1 to option 2 (or vice versa) depends on the history of sewer consumption relative to water consumption. Consumption data from accounts over any three consecutive months will be considered.

Please note that services cannot be provided immediately, such as on the same day. To request a tanker, kindly use the collaborator citizen app or call us at least three working days in advance. Please ensure that requests are submitted before 15:00 on weekdays. Pre-booked scheduled reservations for specific dates and times are not permitted.
Tanker services requested after 15:00 will be subject to an after-hour levy. Regardless of the option chosen a surcharge of R1 696.73 up to 6 kℓ will apply to all callouts scheduled after hours or on weekends.
Conservancy tanks must be watertight to prevent groundwater from entering the tank. This measure helps reduce additional strain on our tanker system and the wastewater treatment plant during sewerage off-loading.
Residents should be aware that households eligible to connect to the network, but have not done so, will incur a double basic fee of R368.83 per month if they do not connect to the network.
