OM PRESS RELEASE – On the afternoon of Tuesday, 22 October 2024, a resident of Betty’s Bay reported an injured juvenile baboon along Clarence Drive.
The Municipality’s veterinarian was called to the scene. Upon examination, the vet found that the baboon had a broken back, likely caused by a vehicle collision. Regrettably, the decision was made to euthanise the animal on site. The juvenile was part of the Oudebosch troop.
Motorists are once again urged to adhere to speed limits and remain vigilant for wildlife, particularly the baboon troops in the area.
