To begin with, Overstrand Municipality appeals to all residents to be on the lookout for any signs of smoke.

WE ALSO APPEAL TO ONE AND ALL TO TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THEIR HOMES:
- Trim overhanging trees and shrubs.
- Rid all gutters of debris.
- Dispose of all superfluous flammable rubble.
- Make sure the firebreaks between your property and bordering grasslands are capable of offering reasonable resistance to runaway fires.
